Arguably the most comfortable hut of its kind in Snowdonia; Dinorwic Mill Cottage was purchased by the club in the mid 1960's and has been greatly improved over the years. It now boasts spacious sleeping quarters with regular and 'alpine style' bunks for up to 12 people. A central lounge with comfy sofa's and two refectory style dining tables. A very well equipped kitchen with two hobs, fridges, oven, microwave, toaster and all the catering equipment you could possibly need. The wash rooms have two toilets, two basins, and a mains pressure shower with on-demand hot water. There is no open fire but the hut is centrally heated throughout, and well insulated thanks to the recent refurbishment.
Outside the hut has a small grassed area that has room for a few tents to provide additional accommodation if required. There is space for 6 or 7 cars to park outside the hut.
Situated on the edge of the lovely village of Brynrefail, the hut is very well located for access to Snowdonia and the nearby coast. There are plenty of great walks, runs, and cycle rides (on-road and off-road) that can all be done straight from the hut. There's even a small outcrop of rocks with some bouldering next door. If you fancy eating out why not head to the Caban in Brynrefail, or one of the many venues to eat and drink in Llanberis.
The hut is available to be booked by club members (who receive a discounted rate) or by other clubs and groups. We charge per person per night at the rates listed below. These rates are inclusive of electricity and gas, although as these are increasingly expensive we ask all hut users to help us minimise costs, and environmental impact, by using only what you need. Children are welcome at the hut, however you must ensure you read and comply with the clubs rules on children at the hut (and on meets).
Having booked your stay with the hut secretary, please make sure that you get in touch again one week before your arrival to confirm you are still staying and to find out the latest combination for the key safe (it is changed regularly). To help make your stay at the hut as straight forward as possible we have prepared a helpful guidewhich will make sure you know what do when arriving, during your stay, and when it's time to leave. Please pass this guide to all members of your party.
The Hut Secretary would also like to draw your attention to the cardinal rules for staying at the hut:
You must book before staying at the hut.
Sign the Hut Book on arrival; test the fire alarm, and safety lights and sign to say that they have been tested in the Hut Book.
Respect all hut users and our neighbours.
Leave the hut clean and tidy.
Do not leave pots and pans draining. Dry and put them away immediately.
Unless you have pre-paid, hut fee's are to be paid as soon as you arrive home.
Please note that unless you book the hut exclusively there may be other club members (or non club members) staying at the same time. Also, the hut is reserved for use by club members only across all bank holiday weekends.
