Location:Old Edwardians Sports Club, Streetsbrook Road (junction with Olton Lane), Solihull, West Midlands, B90 3PE
This event is in the past.
Come along to Solihull for our next gathering of Midlands climbers and walkers and get involved in the BMC.
Area meetings are run by volunteers and provide an opportunity for you to discuss issues and influence decisions affecting climbers and walkers locally and nationally.
The evening also includes a guest speaker, and a bar and food, so it should be a great night out
BMC Organisational Review - Discussions will continue on the recommendations of the independent organisational review group (ORG) following consideration of feedback provided by members since the groups report was published in November. A paper by the ORG will set out the feedback and the groups conclusions from that feedback, and will also include an implementation plan and timeline.
Suzie Imber talk - Guest speaker for the evening is Dr Suzie Imber, associate professor of Planetary Science at the University of Leicester. Suzie is a highly-experienced mountaineer, and has written computer code to identify and map unclimbed peaks in the Andes and Himalayas before setting off to climb them herself. In September she won BBC2’s “Astronauts: Do You Have What It Takes?” programme.
All are welcome. Food will be provided by the BMC, and the club has a licensed bar.
