A pleasant stroll that can be combined with the Llanberis via old Railway route, (1). As for (1) to the bridge but then go left and round alongside the lake past ‘Electrocution Wall’ and up the hill steadily to Fach Wen village. Not far after the phone box, there is a small gate guarding a path that leads steeply down. Follow this as it turns to run parallel to the lake edge down to a little valley. It then climbs to a fabulous little view point (Allt Wen) and then descends to the area west of the slate museum by Vivian quarry. Rather than the museum access road, there is a path across the field to the lake-side car park in Llanberis.
