PLEASE READ - We are experiencing an unprecedented situation in our society and we as a club need to do our part to protect each other, our families, friends and the community at large. To that end we are cancelling all meets until further notice, this includes all weekly indoor climbing meets and all club trips/events.
The club hut is now closed to ALL users. Also, all club members are requested to heed the advice from the government and The British Mountaineering Council about participating in outdoor activities.
Come and share the adventure with the Bowline Climbing Club! Rock climbing, bouldering, mountaineering, cycling, walking; based in the Leicester area we welcome new members, with or without experience. For more information please contact our chairman.
This week we have a couple of offerings from Masa and PP on the Cuillin Ridge - Masa provides context for his conversation with PP about the various times for the Greater Traverse, and PP responds with an account of two of his visits.
For those of you who fancy a virtual trip along the Ridge after reading these articles, join us again at 8pm on Wednesday this week (17June for anyone who is losing track of time) for some more beer and Cuillin themed shorts. (Short films that is. There need be no knobbly knees on display).
I hope you are all well and did something interesting this past weekend.
As the weather looks pretty pants this Thursday, lets have a movie night.
The premise is as we cant all sit round together, have a chilled beverage and chew the fat; lets get together (virtually), have a chilled beverage (or 6) and watch a short movie whilst chewing the fat.
A link is below, we are scheduled for 8pm this thursday the 11th.
I hope to see you there :)
Michael Jones is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
I hope you are all well and you managed to find some cool ways to enjoy the long weekend?
I just wanted to forward the attached article by Bob Crosby, about his trip to Morocco. This is a country that's firmly on my 'list' for walking or climbing, when this is all over and if there are any airlines left to fly me there! (Although I suppose we could have an epic cycle trip ;-))
That's all for now, take care and keep the articles and photos coming!
I was good to see a fair few folks take part in our Quiz night by Zoom. But if you missed it here is the Quiz attached. I've also attached the answers as well, but NO Cheating or Googling - you know you're only cheating yourself! The format is in Open Document Presentation so it should run in most presentation software as well as Power Point.
I've also attached the files as PDFs, but since there is a music round which I can't embed audio on Acrobat Reader I've had to send a separate WORD doc with the music files embedded, but as soon as you double click these it reveals the Track Title - so not perfect.
Hopefully it's all self explanatory.
Have fun - the best score we had on Friday was 21.
