Welcome to this week's "What's on", letting you know what's happening over the next 7 days, plus any announcements from the club.
Special announcement - The club hut is now available to be used again after the recent refurbishment works. Sporting new insulation, a raised ceiling in the lounge, new electrics and plumbing for the lounge and bedroom, new flooring, and a fresh lick of paint the hut is now better than ever. Of course this doesn't all happen by magic, a very big thanks goes to Paul Parker who has spent many many days at the hut to get this done (and Paul's brother Tommy who is not a club member but has spent 7 days helping Paul at the hut). And of course the club members who helped out with clearing out the hut, decorating, and reinstalling all the furniture and fittings, a big thanks to you all!
Club meets this week:
On Thursday we are having a change of venue just for this week and heading to Social Climbing instead of The Tower. Meet from 18:30, drinks in The Salmon pub afterwards..
BMC Organisational Development Group (ODG) - The BMC wants to hear from you! There's now a website where you can find all the documents relating to the work the ODG has done so far, and you can comment on each document and article. Find out more on the BMC website.
Cademan bouldering guide - There is a fresh update to the Cademan woods bouldering guide. Great to see development of bouldering in the local area, check out the latest guide here.

The Charnwood Hills Race is being held on Sunday 3rd February 2019 and we need volunteers to help make sure it all goes smoothly! The race is a hugely important event for the club and the income keeps your subs low and has also enabled the supercool improvements to the club hut that have recently been carried out. This is the moment where you can help support the club by volunteering a few hours of your time during the morning of the 3rd February to marshal or help out with teas and coffees.
For the race to run safely, we need at least 45 marshals at a variety of points along the race course. You will need to be in position for around 3 hours, and in return for your trouble you will receive free tea or coffee back at the school hall, a goody bag with a sandwich and cake and a free pint should you care to come to pub with us afterwards. You also need to be good at clapping, cheering and generally being encouraging - there's always a good atmosphere out on the course. To volunteer, please contact Zoe Pickering via email@example.com as soon as possible.
We also need 6 volunteers to help with the teas and coffees in the school hall, three of whom need to be at the school for 7am, and three for an 8am start. To volunteer for this job (first come first served so get in quick!) please email Lisa Mackenzie at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Welcome to this week's "What's on", letting you know what's happening over the next 7 days, plus any announcements from the club. Bookings are now open for the Chairman's walk on Sunday 2nd December. You can join us for the walk and lunch, or just the walk or just the lunch. Hope we see you there!
Social Climbing - After our trial period of alternating between The Climbing Station and Social Climbing for our Tuesday bouldering we've decided that we will be sticking with The Climbing Station going forward. However this doesn't mean we're abandoning Social Climbing, we'll be there on Thursday 6th December and probably on a monthly basis after that.
Monday night callisthenics - Liz Morrison is going to a Monday callisthenics class 6-7pm at Ape Index, there are 3 other adults that go weekly; 2 climbers and a novice gymnast. All are welcome to join!
Children in Need at The Pinnacle - The Pinnacle climbing wall in Northampton are running a fundraising day for BBC Children in Need this Friday, a number of club members are going, more details on The Pinnacle website.
